Hi, I’m Emily

A little about me…

I was born and raised in Gaborone, Botswana, as a 'third culture kid' with parents from both the United States and Zimbabwe. After spending high school in South Africa and college in the States, I developed a deep love for meeting new people and experiencing different cultures.

I was diagnosed with a tic disorder, ADHD and PCOS and later learned about comorbid conditions like OCD, anxiety and depression. I never learned how to manage them or even what they were and what it would mean for my life. I was put onto medication when I was very young and it was swept under the rug (I stopped taking all the medications by the time I was 18 for causing more severe health concerns). I experienced a lot of trauma and continual stress which I know now exacerbated these conditions. One of the most profound life changing moments of my life was deciding to choose to learn about and invest in my health. I don’t see these conditions as hurdles to jump over, they are part of my genetic makeup and are even a superpower in many instances. Accepting that truth and learning to work with my needs changed everything.

My most valued management tools are stress management (avoiding stressful situations if possible), good sleep, good nutrition and vitamins (i’ve been very fortunate to have an amazing nutrition therapist as a good friend), hobbies (which I call active meditation) and fun fitness.

Hypnotherapy and Havening Techniques have played an important role that honestly blows my mind even today. I now manage any tics (which were a lot) with a simple hypnotherapy technique and now they’re all but non existent. Havening too has been a powerful tool that I use for healing trauma events, stress management and even positive future goal setting and more. My experiences with my own healing journey and my experiences with these modalities is what made me want to help others.
